Josiah Russell, Army Combat Medic, W-EMT, SOLO Instructor

Along with teaching for SOLO, Josiah is an instructor at the Army Mountain Warfare School in Jericho, VT. Josiah teaches mobility in mountainous terrain: such as rope work, knots, land navigation, climbing in both hot and cold environments. After two deployments as a combat engineer, Josiah pursued a career in medicine and education (two of his passions) by training and working as a medic for the army, and in the private sector. Josiah's passions have taken him all over the world, though he often finds himself in the mountains of Montana and Idaho packing horses and mules for big game hunting outfitters.

Garrett is an experienced backcountry AEMT, serving in multiple disaster areas domestically and abroad. He is continuing his love of education and austere medicine as he pursues a master's degree in Extreme Medicine.
